What is this?

Instagram* has a limitation — a 24-hour window for automatic messages from a bot. This means that if a subscriber's last activity was more than 24 hours ago, new bot messages will not be sent to their direct.

An activity is defined as a message from a user, a click on a button, or the launch of a new bot, for example, through a mention in a story or using a keyword .

After the 24-hour window closes, subscribers continue to be counted towards your plan.

Bypassing restrictions

There are no options on Instagram* to bypass the 24-hour window. There are no special tags like Facebook* or template messages like WhatsApp*.

7 days

The 24-hour limitation only applies to automated messages - these are all messages that come through the BotHelp platform, including those you send manually through the Dialogues .

But you have the opportunity to write to a subscriber manually within 7 days, directly to Instagram Direct*.

How to work with a 24-hour window

We recommend creating bot chains in such a way that the subscriber wants to show some activity after each message. Ask questions and leave buttons in messages. With this setup, the bot can work for a long time while the subscriber is active.

Example of a chain: If the user answers the question in the third message, the 24-hour window opens again. And then the fourth message from the bot will come to the subscriber, as shown in the screenshot, 25 hours after the bot was launched.
