There is often confusion in definitions: for example, what is the difference between a channel and a bot. This article describes in detail the terms that may be misunderstood by beginners, and sometimes even experienced users of the platform.

A channel in BotHelp is what messages are sent to your subscribers through. It can be a VKontakte community, a Facebook page*, a Telegram or Viber* bot, a business account in WhatsApp* or Instagram*.

(!) Do not confuse a channel in a messenger (usually Telegram) with a channel on our platform. Channels in messengers do not interact with BotHelp in any way.

Telegram Bot — a bot that is created via @Botfather and connected to BotHelp as a channel. We designate it as a channel, but subscribers see it as a bot in Telegram.

A bot in BotHelp is a chain of messages that will be sent to a subscriber according to the scenario you set. Messages from the bot are sent to the messenger.

There can be several bots for one channel . The subscriber will not see this in any way, for him all messages will come to one chat.

A Facebook business page connects to BotHelp as a channel . Do not confuse it with a personal Facebook page, which does not connect to the platform. Bots and other automations only work with Facebook business pages.

An auto-mailing is a linear chain of messages. Unlike a bot , it has no conditions, actions, or "question" type blocks. An auto-mailing can be launched for your subscriber without any action on their part.

A mailing is a one-time manual message that is sent immediately after sending or at a scheduled time. There are no steps or delays, all blocks are sent at once.

Tags are internal tags on the BotHelp platform. They can be used to understand where a subscriber came from, filter users, and use conditions to select which branch in the chain the user should go to. Internal tags cannot be exported.

UTM tags are parameters that are added to URLs to obtain detailed information about traffic. They are used to track the effectiveness of advertising and the funnel. They can be tracked through conditions, as well as exported and transferred to other systems.

Facebook message tags  are required to send messages to users after the 24-hour window has closed. They are used only for Facebook Messenger.

Domain — usually understood as the account name or BotHelp username. It is selected when registering on the platform. The domain is unique for each user and cannot be repeated.

You can find out your domain in the address bar of your browser if you are logged into your account:

In this example, the full address of the office is: pinigin.bothelp.io

And the domain (cabinet/user name) is: pinigin

Do not confuse the domain (cabinet name) with the domain for the mini-landing page .

Subscribers  on the platform are people who interacted with your channel after the channel was added to the account.

For example, if you connected a VKontakte group as a channel, and this group has 10,000 people, all these subscribers will not be displayed on the platform. Only those who will conduct correspondence after connecting the group to BotHelp will be displayed. And since you can conduct correspondence with a community without joining it, the same person can be a subscriber to BotHelp and not be a subscriber to the group.
