From 01.09.2022, Viber introduced a 24-hour message window and a limit of 10,000 messages outside this window. If the free message package is exceeded, each message will be counted according to Viber's pricing .

Important: commercial since 02/05/2024 . Chatbots created before 02/05/2024 are currently operating under the previous commercial model.

Paid messages

During an open session with a subscriber, all bot messages are free.

1. Message types.

  • Bot-initiated messages. The bot sends them to the subscriber to engage him in a discussion, to open a session.
  • Intra-session messages. Messages between the bot and the subscriber within a session started by the subscriber.
  • Welcome messages . Viber has welcome messages for the first interaction between a bot and a user. The bot sends one welcome message to the user as soon as the user opens a conversation — before the user becomes a subscriber to the bot. These messages are free .

(!) Buttons:

— when using URL type buttons, the button is sent as a separate message;

— in cases where answer buttons are used in the “question” block or buttons from the keyboard are used, the button will not be considered as an additional message.

2. The session begins when:

  • the subscriber writes a message to the bot in response to its initiated message;
  • The subscriber writes to the bot himself.

The session closes automatically after 24 hours. The next session opens when the subscriber writes to the bot.

Below you will find a price list for Viber messages initiated by the chatbot. Prices are in EUR.

The rate applied to each message initiated by the chatbot is based on the country code in the phone number. This is the phone with which the bot subscriber registered with Viber.

The tariff is based on the country code from the phone number with which the chatbot subscriber registered in Viber, and depends on the country and region .

Important: According to the commercial terms, Viber requires a minimum prepayment. The prepayment amount will be credited to the chatbot account. This will allow the chatbot account to send messages initiated by it.
At the end of the month, an invoice is generated based on actual consumption and also includes the amount of €100. It must be paid to top up the balance. This can be done before the end of the month if the account runs out of funds. Any payment for messages over the limit is transferred by the owner of the bot account to Viber itself.
