Facebook* has rules that you can send any message within 24 hours of the last message from a user.
After 24 hours, you can only send non-advertising messages and be sure to include the appropriate tag . For clarification on which messages are advertising and which are not, contact Facebook support*.
If Facebook* finds that you've violated the rules, your business Page may be blocked from sending messages on behalf of your business Page, per Facebook* policy changes made on March 4, 2020.
List of tags (Message Tags)
Event Notification / CONFIRMED_EVENT_UPDATE
Using a tag, you can inform subscribers that they are registered for an event, remind them of a meeting, confirm an upcoming booking, notify them of a schedule change, etc.
Post-Purchase Update / POST_PURCHASE_UPDATE
The tag is intended for non-promotional messages after a purchase. For example, to confirm or deliver an order. Payment notifications also fall into this type.
Subscriber Account Change / ACCOUNT_UPDATE
The tag notifies subscribers about account updates: it reports suspicious activity on the account or that the app needs additional information.
Message from agent / HUMAN_AGENT
The tag is in beta testing and is not yet available. It allows agents to respond to user queries that take more than 24 hours to resolve. Messages with this tag can be sent within 7 days of the user contacting you.
Where are tags assigned?
Message tags are used for the Facebook channel* in all message chains: mailings, auto-mailings, bots.
Tags are now assigned automatically.
- For bots/mailings/automailings the CONFIRMED_EVENT_UPDATE tag is used
- To send messages to an event from the payment page, use the POST_PURCHASE_UPDATE tag
Messages without tags
A RESPONSE message without a tag is subject to the 24-hour rule. It is sent in two cases.
- For chatbot responses by keyword.
- For agent responses in dialogues.
Is it possible to choose a tag myself?
Yes, when creating a thread for Facebook* you can choose one of three possible tags.
For multi-step bots, select the tag in the bot settings.
For automatic sending, you need to select a tag in the settings.
