The Zapier service allows you to connect BotHelp with other platforms. The data is transmitted via a webhook.

More than 1,500 services are available for integration. Among them are: Google Sheets, amoCRM, Trello, Slack, Jira and others. You can find the full list on the integrator’s website.

In order to set up the integration, you have to:

  1. Create a flow.
  2. Create a zap.
  3. Create a trigger webhook.
  4. Connect a webhook zap to a flow.
  5. Create an action to transfer data.

Creating a flow

In order to connect BotHelp to another service via Zapier, you have to create a flow. For more information about creating flows, see the Flows section.

Creating a Zap

To connect the flow and Zapier, you have to create a zap.
Log in to your profile. Click the Make a zap! button and give it a name.

Creating a Trigger

A trigger is an event that will trigger integration, we have to connect the flow to zapier using a webhook trigger.

1. Select “Webhook”.

Select “Catch Hook” as the trigger. Click the Continue button.

2. Copy the resulting webhook URL.

3. Skip the detailed child key setup, you do not need it.

Adding the webhook URL to the flow

  1. Create a new “Action” block. Add the action after all the data that you want to send via the webhook has been collected.
  2. Add the “Send person data via webhook” action.
  3. Paste the link to the webhook in the field.
  4. Save the action.

The webhook will transfer the data that the user had in their profile when they went through this flow.

For example, if earlier you asked which city a person is from and saved the answer in the “city” field, then this field and the value in it will be transmitted via the webhook.

Testing

After you have added the webhook to the flow, go to the next configuration step in Zapier and click the Test trigger button. The connection check will start.

Enter a conversation with the flow and test its operation. The easiest way to do this is if you have configured the flow using a keyword, but you can also use a landing page.

When testing a multi-step flow, be sure to go to the step where you added the action from the webhook.
An inscription should appear indicating that the test was successful.

We continue setting it up.

Creating an action

Action is what zapier will do with the data received from our flow.

  1. Select the application to which you want to send data, e.g., Google Sheets, amoCRM, Trello, and others.
  2. Choose which action should take place in this application, e.g., “add a line” or “create a lead”.
  3. Connect your account in this application.
  4. Insert the values of the fields obtained from the webhook into the fields that will be filled in your application.
  5. Test it by clicking the Test&Continue button.
  6.  Name and enable zap.

Completion

The integration is finished, you can check if there is a new entry in your application. This can be a new row in the Google Sheet, or a new lead in the CRM. You decide which fields to transfer from BotHelp to your application using webhook and Zapier.
