A person can completely unsubscribe from the broadcasting/flow messages, or only from a specific message chain (flow or sequences).
The person initiates unsubscribing, but you have to give them the option to do so.
Unsubscribing by action
Unsubscribing is triggered by using actions. There are several ways to add actions:
- add a new “Action” step in the multi-step flow;
- add action button;
- set up an action in the “Keyword”automation.
Full unsubscribing
It is set up using the “Unsubscribe” action.
Once this action is triggered for the person, they will remain your person, but will not receive messages until they re-subscribe to the broadcasting/flow.
The only way to contact an unsubscribed person is to send them a message via the conversations.
Unsubscribing from a message chain
You can only unsubscribe from a specific message chain (sequences or bot).
Unsubscribing from sequences
To do this, add the “Remove from sequences” action and specify the name of the sequence that you want to remove the person from.
If you plan to use this automation to stop multiple sequences, then you have to specify ALL of them in the settings.
Stopping a multi-step flow
Set up the flow chain to stop the flow for the person.
- Add a new “Action” step after any step.
- Select “Stop flow” and enter its name.
As soon as the person activates this action, the flow selected for it will stop.
Unsubscribing manually
The manual unsubscribing method is available for the flow and sequences. Go to the person’s profile yourself, find a list of their flows and sequences, and delete the unnecessary ones.
Unsubscribing by clicking a button
Multi-step flow
- Add a new step with the “Unsubscribe” action, “Stop flow” or ” Remove from sequences”.
- Add a step with the “Go to step” button type.
- Link the button and the action step to unsubscribing.
Unsubscribing by keyword
Create automation based on a keyword. Enter the words that will trigger the unsubscribing action.
Add the required action.
As soon as the person enters one of the words, the action is activated, they will unsubscribe.
FAQ
If a person unsubscribed and then re-subscribed to the flow/sequences, will they receive messages again?
Yes, the entire chain will be sent from the very beginning.
