_____________
WhatsApp* flows have limitations and features that are not available in other messengers.
Types of buttons
In WhatsApp flows*, in the “Message” step in the “Text” block, you can add only buttons of the “Skip to step” type. These buttons remain visible in the chat and are displayed under the message.
There are currently no URL type buttons for WhatsApp flows*.
There are two options for adding buttons.
- Quick Reply.
- Menu.
Quick reply
This is a single button. It takes you to another step in the chain. It becomes inactive after clicking and will not work the second time. There can be up to three of such buttons in one “Text” block.
For the user in the chat, it will look like this:
Menu
The “Menu” type allows you to create a sheet of several buttons.
A chain using such a menu is created like this:
For a person, the menu will look like this:
There can be up to 10 buttons in the menu. There can be only one menu in the “Text” block.
Unlike the Quick Reply, the buttons in the menu remain active after pressing.
The “Question” block
There is no way to add answer options in the “Question” blocks for WhatsApp*. Other question parameters, such as checking the field type, are available.
The “WhatsApp Template” block*
There is a WhatsApp Template button in the editor only for WhatsApp flows*. In the steps adding menu, click on it to create a step with a template:
In the step settings, select the desired template, change the step name (if necessary), and click Save and Close. After that, you can connect the template step to the flow chain.
The template should be added to the flow only in places where, according to the logic of the chain, a message can be sent to the person after the 24-hour window is closed.
Read more about what templates are for and how to create them in this article.
Important!
Unlike other messages, WhatsApp templates are sent for a fee, the cost depends on the number of people to whom the template will be sent and the country where the people’s numbers are registered. For example, you will be charged $47 (3344 ₽) for 1000 template messages for people from Russia.
The cost of sending the template is determined by Facebook*, the rest of the prices can be seen at this link.
How does payment for templates work?
Payment is made via 360dialog, because the card can be linked to the account there.
The debit charge takes place post factum, at the end of the month.
* Owned by Meta, an organization recognized as extremist and banned in Russia.
