MAX supports public and private channels.

Currently, it is not possible to change a channel type from public to private or vice versa. For more details, see the MAX Knowledge Base.

Flows in MAX can manage user subscriptions to groups and channels: add, remove, and check subscriptions.

Available Actions for a Flow

Add to Group

  • A flow can automatically add a subscriber to a group (if the user allows invitations).

  • A flow cannot automatically add users to private channels or approve join requests. This is a platform limitation.

Remove from Group or Channel

  • A flow can remove a subscriber from a group or private channel.

Check Subscription

  • Verify whether a user is a member of a group or channel.

Creating a Group or Channel

  1. Create a group or private channel in MAX:

    • Open MAX messenger and click the plus icon next to Chats.

    • Select Create Private Channel.

    • Enter a name, description, and avatar, then click Create Private Channel.

    • Optionally add subscribers or click Skip to invite users later.

Done! The private channel is created.

  1. Add the flow as an administrator:

    • Click the channel name in MAX.

    • Go to Administrators → Add Administrator.

    • Select the flow and assign permissions.

    • Click Assign as Administrator.

Configuring in BotHelp

  1. In BotHelp, go to Flows → select the desired MAX flow.

  2. In the Action step → Manage Groups → select Add to Group/Channel and enter the group/channel ID (from the MAX web URL).

  3. In the Condition step → Subscribed to Group/Channel → enter @groupname or ID.

Closed Club in MAX

Closed clubs can be implemented in two ways:

Through a Private Channel

  • Members are added manually by an admin.

  • Automatic joining is not supported.

Through a Group Chat

  • Members can be added automatically in a group.

  • By default, MAX group chats are closed — joining is by invitation only.

Thus, paid closed chat mechanics are possible.

Managing Join Requests for Private Channels

  1. Click the channel name in MAX.

  2. In the top-right corner, click the pencil icon.

  3. Select Invite via Link.

  4. Enable or disable Join Requests.

To disable this option, first review pending requests: approve or reject them. Otherwise, MAX will prompt you to approve all — follow the on-screen instructions.

Managing Join Requests:

  • Only the owner and admins can manage requests.

  • If new requests appear, a New Join Requests notification shows in the channel. Click it to view requests.

  • Or click the channel name → Join Requests to access them (this section appears only if there are requests).

Approve a request: click the checkmark → user is added and notified.
Reject a request: click the cross → request is deleted; the user is not notified but can submit a new request later.

  • To view a user profile, click their avatar.

  • To approve/reject all requests at once:

    1. Click the three dots in the top-right → Approve All or Reject All

    2. Confirm the action by clicking Approve or Reject

For detailed instructions, see the MAX Knowledge Base.

FAQs

  • What if an admin rejected a subscriber’s join request to a private group, but the subscriber wants to submit a request again?
    • Requests can be submitted no more than once per day. Try again later when the request appears in the list.
