Creating a Flow

After connecting the MAX channel to BotHelp, you can create your first flow.

  1. Select the MAX channel and specify the flow name, then click Create Flow.

  2. All types of steps are available in the MAX constructor:

    • Random choice

    • Delay

    • Schedule

    • Condition

    • AI-agent

    • Formula

    • Action

    • Message

  3. Flows can be converted from MAX to other messengers.

  4. Flows can also be copied between dashboards or within the same dashboard.

Setting Up the Greeting

  • Configure the greeting, for example, via the Start button, and create your first question.

  • The flow will launch every time the Start button is pressed.

  • The Start button appears for the first conversation with a subscriber, or if a subscriber previously deleted chat history or blocked the flow, then reopened it.

  • Greeting text can be configured in Automation → Greeting in the left menu.

Creating Your First Step

  1. Add a new step by selecting it from the list via +. For example, choose Message.

  2. Inside the step, you can specify the message the subscriber will receive after the greeting. Options include:

    • Text message (with or without a button, max 4000 characters; text formatting not supported)

    • Image

    • File up to 50MB

    • Question

    • Video up to 50MB

  3. For example, choose the Question block. Specify the question and answer options if needed.

  4. To save the response, select Save to field and choose or create a field. Select the field type: text or number.

  5. Set the user response timeout (0–180 minutes or 1–99999 hours). Use Remind if no answer if necessary.

  6. Use the macro {%first_name%} to insert the subscriber’s name from their account.

  • You can attach images or videos to the question, and use Up / Down arrows to arrange files relative to the text.

Conditional Logic and Actions

  • Depending on the button clicked, you can lead the subscriber through a scenario.

  • For example, in the next Message step, provide a URL button by selecting Add Button → Type: URL → Enter URL.

    • Max buttons: 30

    • Max characters in button name: 64

  • You can also send files via the Message step or go to an Action step to add a tag or start a chat with an agent.

  • Set up the chain for Subscriber did not answer to the next step (e.g., Message) to send a message if no response is received.

  • To add multiple questions or send multiple messages, use the Delay step.

  • You can check the user’s response via Condition and display the appropriate message.

  • The Formula step allows you to calculate discounts or perform other mathematical operations.

AI-Agent Integration

  • AI-agents can be added at any step.

  • You can activate AI-agents on specific channels to continuously perform their tasks.

  • Example: connect an AI-agent for support if the subscriber requests consultation.

  • You can select an AI-agent from a template or create your own.

Testing the Flow

  • Before launching the flow to your audience, test it:

    1. Click Test in the upper-right corner.

    2. If the test succeeds, click Activate.

  • Ensure the MAX desktop app is installed; otherwise, testing will show a blank screen.

Flow Settings

Next to Test, click Settings. You can:

  • Change flow name

  • Copy flow link

  • Copy flow ref

  • Flows can be converted from MAX to other messengers: Telegram, VKontakte, Facebook*, Instagram*, Viber.

Important: Unsupported elements (menus, URL buttons, attachments, external flow triggers, etc.) will not be copied. Text may require editing due to different limits in other messengers.

*Belong to Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in Russia.
