Since 09/01/2022, Viber has introduced a 24-hour message window and a limit of 10,000 messages outside this window. If the free message package is exceeded, each message will be counted according to the Viber billing.

Important. Since 02/05/2024, Viber has introduced a new commercial model. Chatbots created before 02/05/2024 are currently operating based on the previous commercial model.

Paid messages

As part of an open session with a person, all flow messages are free.

1. Types of messages.

  • Messages initiated by the flow. The flow sends them to the person in order to engage them in a discussion and open a session.
  • Messages within the session. Messages between the flow and the person within the session started by the person.
  • Welcome messages. Viber has welcome messages for the flow’s first interaction with the user. The flow sends one welcome message to the user as soon as the user opens a discussion, before the user becomes a person to the flow. These messages are free.

(!) Buttons:

— when using URL type buttons, the button is sent as a separate message;

— if you use the answer buttons in the “question” block or use the buttons from the keyboard, the button will not be counted as an additional message.

2. The session starts when:

  • the person writes a message to the flow in response to its initiated message;
  • the person themselves writes to the flow.

The session closes automatically after 24 hours. The next session opens when the person writes to the flow.

Below you will find the price list of Viber messages initiated by the chatbot. Prices are shown in euros.

The rate applied to each message that is initiated by the chatbot is based on the country code in the phone number. This is the number that the person of the flow signed up with in Viber.

The pricing plan is based on the country code from the phone number with which the person of the chatbot signed up for Viber, and depends on the country and region.

Important. In accordance with the commercial terms, Viber will require you to make a minimum prepayment amount. The prepayment amount will be transferred to the chatbot account. This will allow the chatbot account to send messages initiated by itself.
At the end of the month, an invoice is generated based on actual consumption and also includes an amount of 100€. You have to pay for it to top up your balance. You can do this before the end of the month if your account is running out of funds. The bot account owner transfers any payment for messages that is over the limit to Viber itself.
