1. Automate interactions with subscribers

If you want to automate replies to comments and keywords under your Instagram* posts or Reels, you can use the Comment Reply Growth Tool to send pre-prepared responses to specific keywords.

This helps maintain audience activity and engagement without having to reply to every comment manually.

2. Launch a flow from a commentYou can configure a flow to be launched when a subscriber leaves a comment containing a specific keyword. This can be useful for providing additional information, discounts, or access to exclusive content.

For example, a comment containing the phrase “I want the course” can automatically trigger a flow that provides information about your course.

3. Comment moderation

With Comment Reply, you can automatically add tags to comments, making it easier to analyze and moderate them later.

For example, you can tag comments containing questions as “Requires reply” to easily track and respond to them.

4. Analyze content performance

Comment Reply allows you to track which posts or Reels generate the most engagement from your audience. This can help you plan future content based on your subscribers’ interests.

YouTube video

You can configure an automatic response to comments that subscribers leave under your Instagram* posts.

You can also configure a flow to be launched from a comment under a Reel if the Reel is published to the feed. To do this, add a text block with a button. When the subscriber clicks the button, the flow will be launched. The message containing the text and button is sent to the subscriber in Direct.

First, connect your Instagram* channel to BotHelp. See our article for instructions.

Setting up the “Instagram comment reaction” Growth Tool

1. Go to the Growth Tools section in BotHelp.

2. Click New Tool.

3. In the window that opens, select Instagram → Instagram comment reaction.

A trigger setup page will open. Select the channel on this page.

4. Select a certain posts or reels, or choose All Posts or Reels.

Then, in the Trigger on field, specify which comments the tool should respond to:

  • Any comment — the tool triggers for every comment under the selected posts or Reels. You don’t need to specify keywords.
  • Contain — the comment must contain one of the specified keywords.
  • Match — the comment text must exactly match the specified keyword.

For Contain and Match, fill in the For comments containing these keywords field. If necessary, also fill in Exclude comments containing these keywords.

A comment containing an excluded word will not trigger the flow, even if it also contains a keyword.

Important: When Any comment is selected, the For comments containing these keywords and Exclude comments containing these keywords fields become unavailable. No filtering is applied, and the tool triggers for every comment.

We recommend: If you want the tool to respond to all comments, select Any comment. This way, you don‘t need to choose keywords or come up with exclusion words to cover all possible comments.

5. If needed, enable Ignore repeated launch and specify the ignore period by entering a number and selecting Minutes or Hours.

During this period, a new comment from the same subscriber under the same post will not trigger the flow again. The flow that has already started continues without interruption.

By default, this option is disabled, so every comment that passes the filter triggers the flow again.

The minimum value is 1. The maximum is 180 when Minutes is selected and 99,999 when Hours is selected.

Important: If you enter a value above the maximum, the tool cannot be saved and an error will be displayed in the field.

How the ignore period works

  • The countdown starts with the first trigger and is tracked separately for each subscriber + tool pair.
  • Repeated triggers during the ignore period do not extend or reset the countdown. The window remains fixed from the first trigger.
  • When the period expires, the next comment triggers the flow again and starts a new ignore period.
  • The option applies only to this specific Growth Tool. Another Growth Tool or keyword can trigger independently.
  • If you change the ignore period or disable the option, the changes also apply to ignore periods that are already in progress. The remaining time is recalculated according to the new settings, and disabling the option immediately removes the restriction.
  • When you duplicate a tool within the account, the option’s status and ignore period are copied along with it.
  • The option takes effect from the moment it is enabled. Triggers that occurred before it was enabled are not included in the countdown.

6. Click Next to configure actions.

In the Actions tab, you can configure actions that will be performed after a subscriber leaves a comment.

The available actions are limited by Instagram*. You can use actions related to tags, profile fields, subscribing/unsubscribing, and sending data by email, webhook, or to GetCourse.

Important: You cannot launch a flow or add a subscriber to an automated broadcast directly after a comment.

Launching a flow from an Instagram* comment

To launch a flow from an Instagram* comment, create a text block with a button. The message will be sent immediately after the subscriber leaves a comment.

The button can launch a flow or an automated broadcast. However, the subscriber must click the button themselves to initiate the next action.

You can use an image instead of text, but you cannot send both text and an image together.

To set this up:

  1. Select the Text block and enter a short message.
  2. Click Add Button.
  3. Enter the button name and select the button type: Action or URL.
  4. Select Action.
  5. Click Add Action.
  6. Select Launch Flow.
  7. Select the flow and the step from which it should be launched.

Important: The Instagram* API may truncate text in messages containing buttons. We recommend sending a short message with the flow launch button and adding the remaining information inside the flow itself.

7. After configuring the actions, click Save.

We recommend testing the Growth Tool. To do this, leave a comment under the configured post using another Instagram* account.

How can I set up a new Instagram comment reaction tool for each post if I get a conflict notification?

This is an Instagram* limitation.

You can create multiple Comment Reply tools, but make sure to test them after setup. We also recommend keeping the number of active tools as low as possible. If you no longer need a tool, disable it.
