The difference between WhatsApp Business and WhatsApp Business API*
WhatsApp Business API* is a solution from WhatsApp* messenger that allows businesses to send mass broadcasting with all the features.
WatsApp Business* is a regular application that you can download from the AppStore or Google Play. It allows you to create not a personal account, but a company account. However, it does not have a mass broadcasting function. The “gray” methods use this application for mass broadcasting, but they are very limited, as they are designed to simulate the work of a real person.
Is it necessary to pass the Facebook Business Manager* verification?
WhatsApp puts forward certain requirements for those to whom it gives access to its API:
- Your business manager must be verified on Facebook*.
- You must have a phone number that is not connected to WhatsApp*. Any landline or mobile number will do. To confirm it, you have to accept a call or SMS.
You can first connect the number and start using it, and only then go through verification.
A demo version of WABA is available without verification — up to 250 outgoing conversations per day, this is the main limitation.
How to log in to WhatsApp* from your phone?
You won’t be able to chat with users from your phone right now.
The number will only work through the service it is connected to. In BotHelp, communication with people takes place in the “Conversations” section.
Is it possible to use the WABA number in two services at the same time, for example, to connect it to the messenger platform and CRM?
No, the number can only be connected to one service. It is better to have a second number for other tasks.
Sending messages on behalf of the company
By default, messages are sent from the phone number that is connected to the service. In order for your messages to be displayed immediately with the contact’s name, you have to get a “Green check mark” (this is a separate service).
